Testimonials for AKG
We are all still buzzing from the Tasman Saddle tour. Thanks again to the two of you [guides]. Nice, and not always easy, to blend leadership, safety, friendship and crazy times. You nailed it.

Anna Keeling is a fantastic guide. Not only is she extremely competent and diligent in keeping her clients safe, but she is also really fun and interesting to spend time with. I could not possibly recommend a more outstanding guide to embark on a trip with.

Anna has guided a team of us ski touring in New Zealand for a couple of years now and we have found her absolutely brilliant. She is knowledgeable on the gear we are using, terrain we are entering, snow and weather conditions.
She is always professional, thorough and very organised. She has very good clear instructions, plans and procedures. As a guide she judges each individuals level of guidance needed and caters specially to that.

Read your story on Amuri last night and was really impressed. You summed it up so well and painted such an accurate picture of a very cool little ski area.
Thank-you for the last two days. It was a great introduction to the backcountry and it was so good being exposed to the professionalism shown by you and Pete.
The highlight of course was the run down Goldies. It had us making plans the whole way home, and we all looked fabulous! Well done.

Good pacing by Anna Loomes. Enough 'coaching' without it feeling like information overload. As someone involved in 'teaching/coaching' all the time, it was interesting to step back and look at how other people approach it. Personally I agree with the idea that you should always 'have a look' no matter the weather (well, maybe not in torrential rain) when you're on a trip, there's usually something good to do!

Anna is a superb educator; it was a well-paced and informative [avalanche] course. Anna went the extra mile to make sure everyone came out of the course with the learning required to keep extending their skills in back country travel safely and with confidence. Anna also had a great ability to work to the strengths of the group and keep us all focused, concentrating on being aware of the conditions and terrain and having fun.

If you've ever looked up at the Craigieburn Range and wondered what it would be like to explore them - the Haute Route is the perfect opportunity. Great powder, huge runs and stunning vistas are just the start.
Anna's substantial experience and technical ability is one thing; but her effortless ability to create a team from an unlikely collection of big personalities is reassuring and impressive.

The adaptability of our instructors (Scott Walker and Anna Loomes) and their commitment to delivering a quality course despite adverse weather conditions. I enjoyed learning about the avalanche advisory and how to go about planning for a backcountry trip, as well as practicing our transceiver searches out in the blizzard!
